WhatsApp always comes up with some new features and the messaging app was testing the feature that allows users to hide their contact details, including profile picture, last seen and status updates from the selected contacts for the web version of the app. If the new feature is available, then the users can hide their profile pic and last seen using WhatsApp web. Now, the users have the option of displaying the last seen, profile picture, status information to “everybody”, “nobody” and “my contacts only”. If the new feature is released then the users will have “My contacts except” option. If the users tick on this then they will be able to hide the contact information from the people who don’t like it.
WhatsApp is also experimenting with a new feature that allows group admins to delete a message for the entire group. When a message is deleted, according to WhatsApp’s features tracker, it displays a notification that says “it was removed by an admin.”
Regardless of how many admins are in a group, they will all have the right to delete messages for everyone. The feature has yet to be released to beta testers. This is going to be another key feature that could be implemented in 2022. This feature is particularly useful if someone in a group says something that is contrary to the group’s interests; the admin can immediately delete the post.
