Laxman is currently working in the commentary team of BCCI. The ongoing second Test between India and New Zealand will be his last assignment. Soon after this series completion, Laxman will move to Bangalore and starts working for the NCA. Along with Laxman, former Australia and England bowling coach Troy Cooley will sign as the pace bowling coach at the NCA.
Rahul Dravid worked as NCA’s head all these days. Recently, he took up the charges as the head coach for the senior men’s cricket team. After the NCA position became vacant, BCCI head Sourav Ganguly offered the post to Laxman. Laxman will also travel with the India U-19 team to West Indies to play the U-19 World Cup.
It is also being heard that either Hrishikesh Kanitkar or Sitanshu Kotak will be appointed as the U-19 team’s head coaches. Both of them are currently working in the coaching department of the NCA. All the new NCA coaching staff appointments will be made official soon. It has to be seen how Laxman will perform in this new job and carry Rahul Dravid’s legacy forward.
