Parasailing, also known as parascending or parakiting, is a recreational kiting activity where a person is towed behind a vehicle while attached to a specially designed canopy wing that resembles a parachute, known as a parasail wing.
In a very shocking incident, Ajit Kathad and his wife, from Gujarat were parasailing off the Nagoa beach in Diu on Sunday when the rope of their parachute snapped. They were on a holiday and it was a lucky escape for the couple. They were wearing life jackets and were soon rescued by lifeguards. Now, the video of couple’s parasailing ride and rope connected to their parachute cutting off is going viral on all social media platforms. Here is the video, just give a look at it.

Safety measures in India,

Ajit Kathad’s elder brother Rakesh said that, “I was recording the video and had no idea what to do when the rope broke. I could see my brother and sister-in-law falling from a great height, and I never felt so helpless as I did at that moment.”
The owner of Palms Adventure and Motorsports speaking to a news agency said that, “This is the first time that an incident like this has happened in the past three years because there were heavy winds on Sunday.”
Ajit Kathad speaking to Indian Express said that, “After the rope snapped just as we attained the maximum altitude, the parachute started swaying from one way to the other as we didn’t know how to control it. Seconds later, we plunged into the sea. While we remained afloat thanks to our life jackets, my wife was in a state of shock and couldn’t speak for a few minutes.”
He further stated that, “I went to the police station with the intention to lodge a complaint. But returned without filing a complaint as my family members were still in shock.”
