US woman Lottery Luck: Spam folder isn’t always for junk e-mail. A woman from Michigan can attest to that, as she recently discovered a $3 million lottery prize sitting in hers.
Laura Spears, 55, of Oakland County, Michigan, checks her email spam folder only to find message, that said she had won a $3 million lottery jackpot. The lucky winner had purchased a Mega Millions ticket on the Michigan Lottery website after seeing an ad for it on Facebook. A few days later, she was looking for a missing email from someone, checked the spam folder of her email account; and that’s when she saw an email from the lottery saying she had won a prize. Unable to believe what she was reading, she logged in to her lottery account to confirm the message she saw in the email.
According to Michigan lottery, she not only matched five numbers 2-5-30-46-61, to win $1 million, she was also lucky enough to have had the Megaplier, which multiplied her lottery sum $1 million dollars threefold, making it a whopping sum of $3 million dollars. The lottery was drawn on 31st of December.
Laura Spears, who claimed her prize at Lottery, said she plans to share her winnings with family and retire early. She also made sure to change her email settings saying “I definitely added the Michigan Lottery to my safe senders list just in case I ever get lucky enough to receive another email about a huge prize”.
