Union Budget 2022: KTR asks party MPs to demand for funds to state

Published by Jayadev k On January 27, 2022

Union Budget 2022:  It is a known fact that Telangana government headed by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is seriously considering to raise voice and demand for proper funds allocation to the state by the Union Finance Minister NirmalaSitharam during the Budget presentation in Parliament on February 1.Substantiating this point, Municipal Administration and Development (MAUD) Minister, K Taraka Rama Rao announced that TRS MPs would fight tooth and nail to ensure that Telangana, especially Hyderabad, gets its rightful share of funds. He instructed all state MPs to raise a strong voice in Parliament during the Budget session on the matter.

KTR pointed to the step-motherly attitude of the Centre towards Hyderabad during the flash floods last year. Not a single rupee was given to Hyderabad, whereas Prime Minister NarendraModi released Rs 1,000 crore to rain-affected Gujarat, he said. The Union Minister and BJP MPs from the State had remained mute spectators to the injustice, the MAUD Minister said.

KTR also urged the FM to allocate Rs 7,778 crore funds in the upcoming Budget for various works taken up under the MAUD Department in the state. He hoped that BJP MPs would put in efforts to ensure that Telangana received adequate sanctions in the 2022-23 Budget.
The Minister slammed the Union government for delaying with the decision over handing over around 100 acres of defence lands in Secunderabad cantonment area towards public infrastructure development. Despite repeated requests for nearly 20 times to four Defence Ministers including ArunJaitley, ManoharParrikar, NirmalaSitharaman and Rajnath Singh over nearly six years as well as the PM, there has been no response from the centre, he said.

“We have earmarked Rs 5,000 crore for construction of two skyways from Paradise to Kandlakoya and Jubilee Bus Station to Shamirpet. We are ready to compensate for the 100 acres of defence land, but the Union government did not respond for reasons better known to them,” he said. He assured to take up construction of flyover at Suchitra junction following requests from the locals.
