After two straight OTT releases, Natural Star Nani is finally coming up with a theatrical release in the form of Shyam Singh Roy. The teaser of this movie was unveiled a couple of days ago and is getting a thumping response from the audience. Meanwhile, the teaser also raised a few doubts about the film’s flavour and language.
Nani is playing a dual role in the film. These two characters belong to two different eras. One of the characters is Shyam Singha Roy, who belongs to the period era. He is a writer, who fights for the freedom of Devadasis. In the teaser, we saw Nani uttering a Bengali dialogue. Generally, we see filmmakers writing Telugu dialogues even for non-Telugu characters, in order to make audiences understand. But it looks like Shyam Singha Roy makers have chosen a different path.
It is now being speculated whether Nani’s character predominantly speaks in Bengali as his story is based in Calcutta. If that happens, the viewers may find it difficult to get the dialogues as most of the local audiences don’t have a habit of reading subtitles. If the makers have used Bengali dialogues in only a few instances, then it is fine. The problem arises only when the non-Telugu dialogues are used extensively.

Anyway, we have to wait until the release to know how the makers used the Bengali language in the movie. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Shyam Singha Roy features Sai Pallavi, Krithi Shetty and Madonna Sebastian as the female leads. It is all set for a grand release on December 24.
