The drugs case in the Tollywood film industry has troubled many film personalities. It all started back in 2017 and did not arrive at a conclusion. The case popped up again recently but now, we hear that the drugs case is getting closed without any proper conclusion. Since the officials did not find anything substantial, they are going to close the case.
It all started back in 2017 when the Abkari officials arrested a Drug dealer Kelvin. Kelvin, in the investigation, claimed to have supplied drugs to several film personalities in Telugu and also revealed the names of some. Later, the officials investigated the celebrities but did not find anything strong.
The case slowly took the back seat. However, with Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise and his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty getting stuck in a drugs case, the Enforcement Directorate officials reached Hyderabad in connection with the same. They also questioned the celebrities in Tollywood about their alleged involvement in the usage and export of drugs.
Director Puri Jagannath, actors Ravi Teja, Tanish, Charmmee Kaur, Tarun, Rana Daggubati, Rakul Preet Singh, and 5 others faced the questions of the ED officials. The officials also examined the bank statements of these celebrities. The investigation took place in August and September of this year.
However, the officials did not find any primary evidence against the celebrities about their involvement and hence as the case hit a roadblock, the officials are reportedly closing the case.
More details on the same are awaited.
