The much-awaited Super 12 league stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is all set to begin tonight. The qualifying stages have been concluded last night. Sri Lanka, Namibia, Bangladesh and Scotland are the four teams that have advanced to the Super 12 matches.
There are two groups in the Super 12 stages. Group A consists of Australia, Bangladesh, England, Sri Lanka, South Africa and West Indies. Group B consists of Afghanistan, India, Namibia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Scotland.
There will be 30 matches in this stage. Two teams that are on the top of each group will qualify for the semi-finals. Tonight, there will be two matches held. In the first game, Australia will take on South Africa. England will clash with West Indies in the second game.
India will play its first match against Pakistan tomorrow. It will then face New Zealand on October 31, Afghanistan on November 3, Scotland on November 5 and Namibia on November 8. Considering its form and its contenders, it is being expected that India will finish at the top position of Group B.
The semi-finals will be held on November 10 and November 11. The mega final will be held on November 14th in Dubai. It has to be seen which team will remain the T20 World Champions this time. India, Pakistan, England, Sri Lanka and West Indies (two times) have won the T20 World Cup in the past.
