The Millenials and the Gen-Z kids might be unaware of Skylab, but if you ask anyone from the 70s era, they will tell you about it. Skylab was the first space station in the United States, which was launched by NASA. Eventually, it was disintegrated into the atmosphere, scattering debris across the Indian Ocean and Western Australia. At that time, it was heavily reported across the world that Skylab may scatter anywhere on the earth, destroying the entire area. It created panic among Indians as well. Debutant director Vishvak Khanderao took this point as the story for his maiden film Skylab. Starring Nithya Menen, Satya Dev, and Rahul Ramakrishna in the lead roles, the trailer of this film released just about a while ago.
The trailer was a laugh riot from the beginning to the end. We see Nitya in the role of a journalist born in the Zamindar family. Satyadev plays the role of a doctor who returns to his village to set up a clinic. Rahul is seen as a typical villager, who helps Satyadev in fulfilling his dream. The story is about their village Banda Ligampally and the life of its people during the Skylab phenomenon.
As the film is set in the 1970s, we can see a vintage production design throughout and it brought a new feel to the movie. The background score was good and the trailer was cut in an interesting way. On the whole, it looks like Skylab is a feel-good movie set in a Telangana village.
Apart from acting, Nitya Menen has also co-produced this movie. Skylab is all set to hit the screens on December 4.
