Kohli and Rohit
Earlier today, it has been reported that Virat Kohli will not be available for the ODI selection because he wished to be with his family to celebrate his daughter Vamika’s first birthday. However, netizens are speculating that he is missing out on the series because he was removed from the ODI captaincy recently.
Meanwhile, a BCCI official told News 9 that Kohli has already informed the board that he will be unavailable for the selection as he wants to spend time with his family. The official requested not to believe in social media rumours and clarified that there is no rift between Kohli and Rohit.
On the flip side, Rohit Sharma will miss the Test series due to an injury. Seasoned Ranji player Priyank Panchal has been named as the replacement. BCCI stated that Rohit will be available for the ODI selection but there is no clarity about it as of now. If he also misses the ODI series then BCCI may name KL Rahul as the interim captain.
India will play three Tests and three ODIs in South Africa. The first Test starts on December 26.
