Team India’s star player KL Rahul may end up in a trouble and face a suspension from the IPL. As per the guidelines of BCCI, no player should make any negotiations with new teams, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, before getting released by their existing teams. But it is being heard that Rahul breached the rules.
Rahul represented Punjab kings from 2018-2021. He was given captaincy responsibilities in 2020. After the 2021 season, he had apparently told the management of Punjab Kings that he would want to take part in the mega auction. The decision broke the heart of Punjab Kings as they felt that Rahul has been given full freedom in their camp. But they respected his decision and did not retain him.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Rahul held talks with the Lucknow franchise and when he got a better deal there, he decided to leave Punjab. This is against the rules if it is true. Responding to the reports, Punjab Kings’ co-owner Ness Wadia stated it would be unethical if happened.

Speaking to the PTI, Wadia stated, “We wanted to retain Rahul but he wanted to go back into the auction. If he has been approached by another franchise before that, it would be unethical. That is against the guidelines set by the BCCI.”
Meanwhile, BCCI is currently looking into the issue and is expected to make a decision soon. Along with Rahul, Rashid Khan is also facing allegations of holding a deal with the Lucknow team before getting released by his team Sunrisers Hyderabad.
