Rahul Dravid: Indian cricket is getting painted with new colors. Former legends are taking key positions and are prepping up to shape the bright future of Indian cricket. Already, Sourav Ganguly is working as the president of the BCCI. Recently, Rahul Dravid has been appointed as India’s head coach. Now, another former legend, VVS Laxman has been selected as the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Dravid used to be the chairman of NCA, India A, and India U-19 teams until a few weeks back. But once he became the head coach, Dravid had to leave these positions. Ganguly had apparently wanted another star player to take up the position. Thus, he approached Laxman. Initially, Laxman was not interested in taking up the job. It was heard that he was not keen on shifting base to Bangalore (where NCA is located), by leaving his family behind in Hyderabad.
But BCCI has negotiated with the cricketer and agreed to his terms. Thus, he changed his mind and got ready to take up the job. Ganguly confirmed Laxman’s appointment just about a while ago, in an interview with the ANI. The BCCI is expected to release an official statement soon.
Laxman is currently working as a commentator for the BCCI and is also a mentor for the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. He will now resign to these jobs to take up full duties at the NCA.
