Kannada film fans are yet to digest the news of Puneeth Rajkumar’s demise. It has been 11 days since the actor passed away and every day, thousands of his fans are visiting his memorial at the Kanteerava Studios. Puneeth has died due to a sudden cardiac arrest. However, his fans are speculating various theories around his death.
Of late, it is being widely circulated on social media stating that Puneeth passed away due to medical negligence. Fans are alleging that the negligence of his family doctor Ramana Rao and the staff of Vikram Hospitals are the reasons for Puneeth’s demise. Eventually, Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (PHANA) wrote a letter to the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai seeking police protection for Rao and the other medical officers who were involved in Puneeth’s case.
As a result, the police has provided protection for Ramana Rao and a few other doctors. A KSRP platoon has been deployed in front of Dr Rama Rao’s house and clinic.
In the letter, PHANA president Dr Prasanna HM stated that there are concerns over the allegations made by fans and well-wishers. “We strongly oppose attempts by the public to point fingers at the treating physicians, especially Dr Ramana Rao, who did his best,” he said. “This kind of judgemental and hypercritical media frenzy is creating distrust in society as well as risk to the lives of the medical professionals who served the deceased,” he further added.
