Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the nation today evening at 5 PM. In a tweet, the PMO announced on Monday that PM Modi will speak at 5 pm. In its tweet, PMO India wrote, “Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi will address the nation at 5 PM today, 7th June.”
Modi dressing the nation at a time when the country recorded its lowest in the last 2 months that is less than 1 lakh COVID cases per day. The COVID death tally has also gone down in the recent period.
Earlier, PM Modi addressed a meeting of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Society via video conference. In that meeting, he appreciated Indian scientists for developing a Made in India vaccine against Covid-19 and boosting measures to fight the pandemic within a year of its outbreak.
Reports are that Modi will talk about the revised vaccination policy of the Indian government and the status of the various foreign vaccines which are being granted approvals for trials. Urgent PM Modi’s address will come on a day when several states announced unlocking from individual COVID-19 restrictions.
Hence, we can expect Modi to tell the people about the status of COVID-19 in the country and the report of the high-level meeting he chaired today where he was briefed about the current availability of vaccines and the roadmap for ramping them up.
