Padma Winners Who Were Barefoot
President Ram Nath Kovind presented Padma Awards to some of the eminent personalities. Four Padma Awardees went barefoot to the ceremony have grabbed all the attention. Netizens and celebs are singing praises for the four recepients. Environmentalist Tulsi Gowda, agriculturist Rahibai Soma Popere, orange seller Harekala Hajabba and artist Dalavayi Chalapathi Rao are the four people who went barefoot and received award from President Ram Nath Kovind.
Filmmaker and activist Ashok Pandit praised the aforesaid people and wrote, “They are barefoot, but have the Padma Shri in their hands.” He tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Rajan Rao took to his Twitter and shared the picture of Tulsi Gowda and wrote, “Barefoot & dressed in traditional attire, #Environmentalist Tulsi Gowd, aka ‘Encyclopedia of the Forest’ was awarded the Padma Shri. She planted more than 30,000 saplings and has dedicated her entire life in environmental conservation.”
