New Zealand witnessed a heartbreaking loss against Australia in the T20 World Cup last Sunday. After a few hours of their defeat, the Kiwis boarded a charted flight and landed in India to play a bilateral series against Rohit Sharma and co. This bilateral series consists of three T20I matches and two test matches.
The first game will be held tonight at Sawai Mann Singh Stadium in Jaipur. Rohit Sharma will be taking charge as the new T20 captain with this game. It will also become the first game for Rahul Dravid as a full-time head coach. Virat Kohli has been rested for the T20 series. He will also miss the first test and join the second test match. KL Rahul will be the vice-captain for the series.
On the flip side, the Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson has been rested as well, for the T20 series. He will be joining the team for the Test series. Senior bowler Tim Southee will lead the side for the T20 series. Devon Conway, who has injured himself during the semifinal of the T20 World Cup, has been ruled out of this series. He will be replaced by Tim Seifert.
The match starts at 7 PM IST. The analysts opined that there will be a dew factor in the game and thus, the team batting second will have an advantage.
