Nani-Varun Tej: Natural Star Nani signed an interesting film Shyam Singha Roy and scheduled it for a grand release on the 24th of this month. Rahul Sankirtyan is the film’s director. Later, the makers of Ghani also scheduled the film’s release on the same date. The trade expected that Nani’s film will be pushed to a later date but surprisingly, Nani’s determination pushed Varun Tej’s Ghani out of the box office race.
The makers of Ghani wanted a solo release now. With Pushpa releasing a week before the film’s release, they are unsure if they will mint desired revenues at the box office. Also, if Shyam Singha Roy becomes a hit, it will also be a threat to Ghani’s performance at the box office.
The makers of Ghani released a note about the postponement of the movie.
“Ghani is a movie which is very close to our hearts. Lot of efforts have gone into making of the film. From exotice locations to expensive sets, we haven’t compromised on anything and made this film on a grand scale to give the best visual experience for the audience. As the industry is just recovering from the pandemic and there are a lot of films slated to release in the coming weeks, we have decided to postpone our release to a later date to avoid clashes and keeping in mind the impact it will have on the business of everyone involved. Ghani will release soon in theatres only and we are sure it will be a memorable experience for all,” read the statement.
