India has achieved a remarkable feat in COVID-19 vaccination. Within the span of a few months, the country has crossed the 100-crore vaccination mark and reached a sensational milestone.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the entire country on this feat. “India scripts history. We are witnessing the triumph of Indian science, enterprise, and collective spirit of 130 crore Indians. Congrats India on crossing 100 crore vaccinations. Gratitude to our doctors, nurses, and all those who worked to achieve this feat. #VaccineCentury,” he tweeted.
The top five states that have administered the highest number of vaccinations are Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.
As per the reports, about 75 percent of the eligible adult population have been administered with at least the first dose of the vaccine. Around 31 percent have received both doses of the vaccine.
The Health Ministry stated that India achieved the 100-crore mark in a span of just nine months. To celebrate this achievement, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will launch a song and an audio-visual at the Red Fort later today.
It is also reported that the largest khadi tricolor in the country, weighing around 1,400 kg, will also be displayed at the Red Fort.
