Leena Nair, an executive from Unilever is the new global CEO of French Fashion brand Chanel. Chanel was founded in 1910 by fashion legend Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel as a hat boutique on rue Cambon in Paris.
After Leena Nair was appointed as the Global CEO of Chanel, she tweeted, “I am humbled and honoured to be appointed the Global Chief Executive Officer of Chanel, an iconic and admired company.”
She further wrote, “Overwhelmed by the love and support my appointment as Chanel CEO has got. Thank you! Please trust that I am reading every comment, even if I don’t reply to everyone individually.”

She follows US businesswoman Maureen Chiquet.
Leena joined Unilever’s Indian subsidiary HUL in 1992 as a trainee on the factory floor and associated with it for 30 years.
She was the first woman and youngest-ever Chief Human Resources Officer at the Anglo-Dutch multinational Unilever.
Leena Nair was a member of the Unilever Leadership Executive who oversaw 1,50,000 people at Unilever.
She also worked as a non-executive director of the British government’s business, energy and industrial strategy department.
