A 25-year-old man who was carried on a shoulder to a hospital by a Chennai cop breathed his last on Friday. It is all known knowledge that the police official Rajeshwari rescued a man Udhaya Kumar who was lying unconscious at a cemetery in the TP Chatram area of Chennai. The video of police carrying the man on her shoulders went viral on all social media platforms and the CM of Tamil Nadu also felicitated her.
According to the reports, the deceased man was identified as Udhaya Kumar and he was found unconscious at a cemetery. Many parts of Tamil Nadu have been witnessing heavy rains for the last few days. Till now, 14 people have died in the state due to rains. Mudichur, Perungalathur, and Nandivaram-Guduvancherry look like mini islands with very little access to essential needs. Police and rescue teams are working round the clock and are helping the needy.
“Thunderstorm with moderate rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Kanyakumari, Tenkasi, Coimbatore and Virudhunagar districts of Tamil Nadu within the next three hours,” the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai said on Friday evening.
IMD also tweeted that, “Light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Kerala during next 3 days. Heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Tamil Nadu, Karaikal & Puducherry & South interior Karnataka during next 5 days.”
