The day of IPL retention submission is here. All the eight existing IPL teams are supposed to submit their retention list to the BCCI today. The retentions will be announced to the public through a live event which starts at 09.30 PM. The event will be telecasted on Star Sports Network and Disney+ Hotstar. It is going to be a fun, entertaining, and long day for all the IPL fans.
It is being reported that all teams have already finalized their retention list. Every team can retain up to four players (which includes a maximum of 2 overseas players). It is heard that Chennai Super Kings confirmed MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Moeen Ali as its retained players.
Apparently, Delhi Capitals zeroed in Rishab Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel, and Anrich Nortje as its retained players. We have to wait for a few more hours to know the official retained list of all the teams.
Once BCCI approves all retentions, the two new teams, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, will get a chance to buy up to four players (with a maximum of two overseas players) from December 1 – December 25.

The players who are left by both these teams as well will get into the mega auction.
It is being heard that the mega auction will be held in January 2022. IPL 2022 will feature 10 teams in total and most likely, it will kickstart on April 2.
