KCR’s Juggling: Interchanges Kaushik, Madhusudhanachary; Wins his way!

Published by Jayadev k On November 16, 2021

KCR’s Juggling: Telangana Rastra Samiti (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao played a political jugglery by announcing the names of the selected candidates for MLC seats and outsmarted the Governor of Telangana Dr Tamilisai Soundarrajan! A small juggling of candidates did the trick for KCR! He shifted P Kaushik Reddy from MLC from Governor’s quota to MLAs quota and will be doing vice versa with S Madhusudhanachary. By this move he will keep both the leaders happy and need not plead the Governor!

KCR’s Juggling

KCR and Kaushik Reddy

Kaushik Reddy has been waiting with wings to become a member of the state legislative council. TRS has nominated Kaushik for MLC under Governor’s quota. Three months ago the government had sent nomination of Kaushik to Governor’s office, since then there has been no response from Dr Tamilisai.

According to a newspaper report, the Governor’s office has confirmed that the file is still pending with them and as she was busy, could not study the file yet. Kaushik, a former Congress leader, jumped into TRS after being promised MLC seat. Under the Governor’s quota, only distinguished persons should be recommended. But it seems Dr Tamilisai has doubts about the candidate and his achievements to be given MLC under the Governor’s quota. So it is said that she has kept the file on hold.

Interestingly, according to the constitutional norms, the Governor can hold the file to study as long as she wishes; there is no timeframe to give her response. Moreover if she rejects and the government resends insisting that she give are approval, she will have to accept the nomination. According to political analysts, this was the reason for the Governor’s delay in giving her reply to Kaushik’s file.

Everyone was surprised by KCR’s attitude towards the Governor’s silence over Kaushik’s nomination. People within the party thought, it will hang in balance and so will Kaushik. To everyone’s surprise he has been now nominated for MLC post under MLAs quota, while this move is a boost to Kaushik, it is also a blow to the Governor. It is said that she had been adamantly sitting over the file for over three months. But without her involvement, now Kaushik will become the MLC!

In meantime, former speaker Madhusudhanachary is likely to be nominated for MLC under Governor’s post and in all probability Dr Tamilisai will not be rejecting his nomination! With this jugglery, KCR proved that he has mastered politics and now to play his cards well!
