In what could be said as a clear stand taken by the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, it looks like he has targeted the Union minister for culture and tourism Kishan Reddy. It looks like KCR is making a frontal attack on the Union minister and even dared him for an open debate on the issue of paddy procurement.
The CM alleged that Kishan Reddy was misleading the farmers of the state by saying that the centre would procure paddy. The inconsistent statements by the Union minister were not correct and in fact dangerous as it gives false hope to the farmers, KCR said. He said that the Union government did not put any cap on procuring paddy in kharif. “BJP is cheating people, Kishan Reddy should either come for an open debate or tender an apology for misguiding people,” the CM challenged.
In a retreat to KCR, the Union minister alleged that it had become a habit for the CM to blame the Union government over the issue of the paddy procurement. He asked the ruling Telangana Rastra Samiti (TRS) party leaders to not create confusion among the farmers, adding that there was no issue in the purchase of paddy.
Making it clear that the central government will buy every piece of paddy, Kishan Reddy said the CM himself had given a letter to the centre that he would not supply para boiled rice to it. He asked KCR not to sacrifice farmers to ensure his love towards his son. He called upon farmers to mount pressure on the CM to buy paddy, which is lying in procurement centres.

He alleged that the government had failed to come to the rescue of tenant farmers. Kishan Reddy alleged that spurious and substandard seed were being sold in Telangana; the state government had failed to prevent the menace of the spurious seeds.
The war of words between the two leaders has just begun, looks like we will witness more fireworks in the near future!
