Kannada Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar is no more. The actor passed away this afternoon after suffering a cardiac arrest. This is rather a shocking and unexpected incident. Puneeth is one of the most popular actors in South Indian cinema, who enjoys a massive fan following in Karnataka. He was 46.
According to the reports, the actor suffered a cardiac arrest at around 12 PM today. He was immediately rushed to the Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru. It is reported that he was in a critical condition by the time he was admitted to the hospital. The doctors tried their best but couldn’t save Puneeth. Karnataka’s Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai visited Vikram Hospital soon after Puneeth’s admission. His family members, friends, and colleagues have also reached the hospital after hearing the news. Fans have mobbed the entire hospital area.
The government has declared high alert in the state of Karnataka. All the theatres have been shut after hearing the news. Not only the Kannada film industry but the entire Indian film fraternity is shell-shocked with the sudden demise of Puneeth. Many celebrities and fans are sharing their condolences on social media.
Puneeth made his debut as a child artist and won a National Award for his performance in the 1985 film Bettada Hoovu. He won Karnataka State Awards as a Best Child Artist for the films Chalisuva Modagalu and Yeradu Nakshatragalu. Puneeth made his debut as a lead hero with the 2002 film Appu. He later delivered many hits like Veera Kannadiga, Abhi, Arasu, Raam, Ajay, and Anjani Putra. He was last seen in Yuvaratnaa, which had hit the screens earlier this year.
