Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar’s sudden demise has left the whole Indian film fraternity in a shock. He died of a sudden cardiac arrest. People are yet to digest the news as the actor was one of the fittest personalities in the Kannada film industry.
It is learned that Puneeth had severe chest pain when he was doing regular workouts on Friday. He was soon taken to his personal physician B. Ramana Rao, by his wife Ashwini. Ramana Rao’s clinic was just three minutes away from Puneeth’s house.
Ramana Rao shared the entire incident in his interview with The Hindu. He stated, “Appu (Puneeth) said he had a little weakness. His blood pressure was 150/92, which is normal. He was sweating and when I asked, he said it was normal. He came to me straight from the gym.”
Rao also said how Puneeth got down the car and walked into his clinic normally. Apparently, the actor had no pain at that time and even his heartbeat was normal. “I have been seeing Appu from his childhood and he has never had any health issues. I got worried and did an ECG immediately,” said Rao.
“The ECG showed a strain. I told Ashwini to take him to Vikram Hospital immediately. We helped him into the car and made him lie down on the back seat with his head on her lap. He was taken there in about six minutes, but unfortunately, we could not save him. It was a cardiac arrest, where the heart abruptly stops beating, and not a heart attack, where blood flow to the heart stops,” he further added.
