The much-awaited IPL retentions are to be declared tonight. For the last few days, the entire cricketing world has been speculating about the retentions that the existing IPL teams are going to make. The suspense is all set to be ended later today.
The retentions event will be telecasted live on the Star Sports Network on television. Internet users can stream it live on Disney+ Hotstar. According to the latest reports, defending champions Chennai Super Kings will retain MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Moeen Ali. The retention list of Delhi Capitals includes the names of Rishab Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel, and Anrich Nortje.
We have to wait for a few more hours for an official declaration about the retention list of the other teams. After the retention list is announced, the two new teams, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, have a chance to buy a few players who are not retained by any other team. Their purchase window will be active from December 1 – December 25. Players who are not bought by those two teams will enter the mega auction, which will be held early next year.
