IPL: BCCI has asked all the existing IPL teams to announce their retention list by November 30. The two new teams, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, can pick their players from December 1 to December 25. The mega auction will be held most likely towards the end of January or early February in 2022.

Meanwhile, it is being heard that the Ahmedabad franchise is holding talks with local boys Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya. If the talks go well, we can see the Pandya brothers representing this team from the next IPL.
Both of them played for Mumbai Indians all these years. We now hear that Mumbai is planning to retain Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah for sure. They are holding talks with Kieron Pollard as well but nothing is confirmed yet.
It is almost clear that neither Hardik nor Krunal will get a berth in the retention list. Thus, they may opt for the Ahmedabad franchise’s offer.
Meanwhile, it is also being heard that Punjab Kings’ captain KL Rahul is not interested in continuing with the franchise. The Lucknow franchise is holding talks with the star Indian opener. If everything goes well, he may lead the Lucknow side from the next IPL.
On the flip side, Delhi is planning to leave Shreyas Iyer. We hear that he may enter the auction pool because neither Lucknow nor Ahmedabad franchises are in talks with him as of now.
