IPL 2022: Afghanistan’s leg-spinner Rashid Khan is a numero uno bowler in the T20 cricketing world right now. He represents Sunrirsers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. Rashid has been phenomenal for SRH since his debut. But we now hear that there are chances of him leaving the franchise ahead of IPL 2022.
All IPL teams are now in the works of retaining the players. Every team can retain up to 4 players (including a maximum of 2 overseas players). It is being speculated that Sunrisers Hyderabad is planning to retain Kane Williamson and Rashid Khan.
According to the Cricbuzz report, SRH wants Kane Williamson to be their No.1 player on the retention list. Rashid will be their second choice. But we hear that Rashid wants SRH to make him the No.1 priority player. This makes him get a higher salary.
However, SRH is not very keen on giving the top priority to Rashid. They want to secure that place to Kane. The salary difference between the two positions is Rs. 4 crores. It is being reported that SRH’s management is holding talks with Rashid and is trying to negotiate. If he disagrees, the franchise may proceed with only one retention, which will be Kane Williamson. The deadline to submit the retention list is November 30.
