Now, it is being heard that Delhi Capitals is all set to retain Rishab Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel, and Anrich Nortje.

IPL 2022
All of them have been phenomenal for the team. Their contribution over the last few years helped Delhi in becoming one of the most powerful teams in the league since 2018. However, the omission of Shreyas Iyer has come as a huge shocker.
Iyer has been the backbone for Delhi Capitals for a long time. He also led the team successfully for the playoffs. But it seems that the team is not very keen on retaining him. Iyer missed out on the first half of the IPL 2021, due to an injury. In his absence, Rishab Pant had led the team and took them to the playoffs.
Iyer has not been effective since his comeback after the injury. Moreover, Pant had also proved himself as a capable leader. We hear that those are the reasons why the franchise decided to part ways with Iyer.
Meanwhile, the auction will be held either towards the end of January or early February. Every team will undergo major changes in their balance because they could retain up to only four players.
