After exiting the T20 World Cup in the Super 12 stage, team India has now come back home. There is no time to rest because of the upcoming home series which starts on November 17. India will play against New Zealand in this series. A total of 3 T20Is and 2 Tests will be held in the series. Tonight, the BCCI selection committee has announced the teams for the T20I matches.
Rohit Sharma will be the new T20I captain for India. KL Rahul will be the vice-captain. Virat Kohli has been rested from the series. Along with Kohli, Jadeja, Bumrah, Shami and Hardik Pandya are also rested. A total of 16 members have been picked up by the committee.
Young players like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Venkatesh Iyer, Harshal Patel and Avesh Khan have been picked. Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammed Siraj are back to the T20 side. Rahul Dravid will be taking up duties as the head coach from this bilateral series.
