India vs New Zealand: After clean-sweeping the T20I series, Team India is looking forward to continuing the same momentum against New Zealand in the upcoming Test series as well. Both these teams are all set to lock horns in a two-match Test series, which starts from tomorrow. Green Park Stadium in Kanpur will be hosting the first test. Meanwhile, it has been more than 33 years since the Kiwis won a Test match on Indian soil. It has to be seen if they break the jinx this year.
The last Test match New Zealand won in India was the second test match of the 3-match Test series which was held in 1988. The Kiwis won that match by 136 runs. New Zealand had first toured India in 1955. Since then, it has played 34 matches in the sub-continent and managed to win only two. 16 matches have ended up as a draw.
The last two times the Kiwis toured India (2012 and 2016), they were whitewashed. It has to be seen how they manage to face the formidable side of India in this Test series. They need their star batters to tackle the strong Indian spin attack well in order to win matches.
Meanwhile, India will be playing the first Test without Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rishab Pant and KL Rahul. Under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane, team India will take on the Kiwis.
