The second day of the ongoing second Test between India and New Zealand witnessed many dramatic twists and turns. This has to be one of the entertaining days in Test cricket. There were three innings, one 150, one 10-fer, and a fall of 16 wickets in a single day. All in all, it looks like this Test will definitely have a result in less than five days and it may come in the favour of India.

Ajaz Patel
Team India started off the day with an overnight score of 221/4. Though Wriddhiman Saha got early, Mayank (150) got good support from Axar Patel (52). They both have settled the innings for India. Mayank fell right after completing 150 runs. After that, Axar completed his maiden half-century. With the help of Ajaz Patel’s (10/119) record-breaking 10-wicket haul, India got all-out for 325 runs.
New Zealand completely got dismantled while it started batting. Right from the beginning, Indian bowlers breathed fire and started taking wickets in quick successions. Mohammed Siraj (3/19) crushed the top order of the Kiwis. Then the spin bowlers Ashwin (4/8), Jayant Yadav (1/13), and Axar Patel (2/14) took care of the middle and lower order. Thus, New Zealand got all-out for just 62 runs.

India chose to bat instead of giving follow-on for New Zealand. Instead of Shubman Gill, Chateshwar Pujara (29*) opened alongside Mayank Agarwal (38*). Both of them made sure not to lose a wicket. Thus, India finished day 2 with a score of 69/0. The lead is now at 332 runs.
