A minor girl who went to a club for a party was allegedly gang-raped by a few boys inside a car on Saturday evening in Hyderabad. According to the police, five persons were involved in the case and two persons have been arrested. Out of the five people identified, three are minors. The accused have been identified as Sadduddin Malik and Omer khan. DCP Joel Devis said, “Five accused have been identified in the case. Among them are three minors. One accused, Saduddin Malik, has been arrested. The allegation that the home minister’s son-in-law is involved is baseless.”
“There were a lot of allegations in the media about MLA’s son. As per the statement of the victim, CDR analysis, and the CCTV footage, he was not among those 5. We are still investigating for further evidence,” he added.
According to the reports, the car in which the rape occurred belongs to a Telangana MLA.
Telangana IT Minister KTR urged the state Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali, DGP and Hyderabad City Police Commissioner to take strict action against those involved in the rape case and asked them not to “spare anyone involved irrespective of their statuses or affiliations”
“In the sad and shameful incident where a minor was raped, we stand by the family. I am confident Telangana Police will get to the bottom of it. We have a track record of Zero Tolerance when it comes to Women’s safety,” K Kavitha posted on Twitter.
