India’s star wicketkeeper Rishab Pant grabbed everyone’s attention by sticking a tape on his jersey during the last night’s game against New Zealand. Everyone wondered why he had stuck a tape on his jersey. Finally, we got to know the reason behind it.
Rishab wore a T20 World Cup jersey during last night’s game. As per the rules, one should not show World Cup’s logo in any other tournament. Thus, Rishab stuck a tape around the logo. Meanwhile, it is still unclear why he wore a World Cup jersey rather than the normal jersey.
That is also the reason why Rishab’s jersey looked different from others. Generally, the normal jerseys feature the sponsor’s name (Byju’s) with a bigger font. On World Cup jerseys, the sponsor’s name is mentioned on the sleeves. Thus, the mystery behind the tape on Pant’s jersey is now revealed.
Meanwhile, India won this second T20 by 7 wickets and sealed the series against New Zealand. It was Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, who have done extremely well on the batting front and helped India in chasing the total quite comfortably. Harshal Patel and Ashwin shined on the bowling front. Debutant Harshal was awarded the Man of the Match.
