An FIR was filed against Bollywood heroine Kangana Ranaut for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community by the Mumbai Police. A complaint was raised by Amarjit Singh Sandhu and the FIR was filed at Khar Police Station of Mumbai under Section 295A of the IPC.
The Instagram story posted on November 20 reads, “Khalistani terrorists may be arm twisting the government today. But let’s not forget one woman. The only woman prime minister ne inn ko apni jooti ke niche crush kia tha (The only woman prime minister crushed them under her shoe). No matter how much suffering she caused to this nation, she crushed them like mosquitoes at the cost of her own life. Lekin desh ke tukde nahi hone diye (but didn’t let the country disintegrate). Even after decades of her death, aaj bhi uske naam se kaampte hai yeh inko vaisa he guru chahiye (even today, they shiver at her name, they need a teacher like her).”
The Bollywood actress shared the story just a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the centre’s decision to repeal the three farm laws.
Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) also wrote to President Ram Nath Kovind and appealed that Kangana’s Padma Shri should be withdrawn.
The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) also filed police complaints against Kangana Ranaut on Saturday for allegedly making seditious and derogatory remarks. A few days ago, some criticised Kangana for her comment on India’s Independence.
