India’s young ace shuttler Lakshya Sen won gold medal in the final of men’s single at the ongoing Birmingham Commonwealth Games. He defeated Malaysia’s Tze Yong Ng to win the medal. After defeating Singapore’s Jia Heng Teh 21-10, 18-21, 21-16, Sen advanced to the men’s singles championship round.
After Lakshya Sen’s winning moment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Elated by the accomplishment of Lakshya Sen. Congratulations on winning the Gold medal in Badminton. He’s played excellently through the CWG and showed outstanding resilience during the Finals. He is India’s pride. Best wishes to him for his future endeavours.”
