Chandrababu Naidu Cries: In a surprise culmination of support, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N Chandrababu Naidu received support from unexpected quarters, or can we say expected! Both Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Jana Sena Party (JSP) came out openly in support for former Chief Minister after he and his wife were alleged abused by the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLAs in assembly.

Chandrababu Naidu Cries
Chandrababu Naidu broke down on live television on Friday at a press conference he held shortly after staging a walkout of the Andhra Pradesh assembly. He referred to what he said were harsh and derogatory verbal attacks on his wife, Bhuvaneswari. “For the last two-and-a-half years, I have been bearing the insults but remained calm. Today, they targeted even my wife. My wife never even came into politics. I always lived with honour and for honour. I can take it no more,” a distressed Chandrababu Naidu said.
The TDP chief said he was denied an opportunity to make a statement to defend his wife against the alleged personal remarks. It is being reported that Speaker Tammineni Seetaram cut former CM’s mic as he was speaking, and as ruling party MLAs called Chandrababu Naidu remarks “drama”. “I have not been given an opportunity to even make a statement on the remarks made. So, I walk out of the Assembly. I will not return unless as Chief Minister… I have been insulted in the House,” he said.
This entire episode has not gone well with many people apart from Nandamuri family. Even political parties have sharply reacted over the alleged misbehaviour and personal attacks by the YSRCP MLAs. BJP leaders came out and spoke in support of Chandrababu Naidu and alleged highhanded attitude of the ruling party leaders. They said attacking former CM’s wife and son was unwarranted. They criticised the lack of decency on the part of the YSRCP.
BJP leaders Sujana Chowdary and CM Ramesh made a direct attack on the YSRCP for their alleged abusive attack on Bhuvaneswari. They said that a dirty mind was working with a disturbing purpose to malign and abuse Chandrababu Naidu’s family members. BJP former MLA Vishu Kumar Raju too came out in support of the TDP chief. He said the political etiquette should not be ruined and the derogatory remarks on the family members were uncalled for. Interestingly, most of those who criticized YSRCP are imports from the TDP to BJP!
JSP chief and star-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan said the current situation in the state is disturbing. He expressed camaraderie to the TDP supremo, saying that he felt bad for him. “Chandrababu Naidu broke down due to the insulting comments on his wife, and I feel bad for him. Insulting and making derogatory comments against family members is not correct. The state is suffering due to the floods and lamenting each other during this time is unfortunate,” he observed.
