Like very session, there were heated arguments over the issue of agriculture and women empowerment in the state between ruling and opposition parties in the state assembly today. The cross firing of words went overboard when YSRCP’s Kannababu, Ambati Rambabu crossed the line and made personal attacks by dragging Chandrababu Naidu and even his wife during their address.
The TDP supremo made the announcement in the state assembly and expressed resentment over the alleged abusive comments made by YSRCP members against him and his wife on the floor of the house. Chandrababu Naidu said “he had enough” of humiliation from the ruling party.
“I will not attend this assembly hereafter. I will return to the House only after becoming the chief minister again,” Chandrababu Naidu said, before walking out of the House. The TDP supremo said he had never witnessed such unruly behaviour by the ruling party members in the assembly during his long political career. “All these years, I was only concerned about respect and prestige and the decorum of the house,” he observed.
Adding insult to the injury, even as the opposition leader was speaking the Speaker of the assembly Tammineni Sitaram cut the mike on which Chandrababu Naidu was speaking. As if these were not enough, it is said Jagan didn’t raise any objections to the happening in the assembly in front of him. It is said he was smiling all through!
Yesterday, Chandrababu Naidu went on foot to attend Thursday’s session of the House to protest against the anti-people policies and rising prices under the Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy government. The opposition leader led TDP MLAs and MLCs in the foot march taken out to the House. The TDP members held placards and raised slogans criticising the YSRCP regime for “not providing any relief to the common man from the abnormal price rise”.
