Case Filed Against Sai Pallavi Over Kashmir Pandit Exodus Comments

Published by Sahasra On June 16, 2022

A police complaint was filed against actress Sai Pallavi for her comments on the Kashmiri Pandit exodus and cow vigilantism. Bajrang Dal leaders have filed a complaint at the Sultan Bazar police station in Hyderabad over the comments she made on the Kashmiri Pandit exodus and cow vigilantism in an interview. A user shared a video and wrote, “Every god damn time “Jai Shree Ram” has to be dragged by people like #SaiPallavi.”

She said that recently, a film named Kashmir Files was released and she compared that the Kashmiri Pandits killing with that of a man carrying a cow and he was thrashed by some. The comments made by Sai Pallavi were not received well by some sections of society.

The police said that they will look at the video and will take further action after a legal opinion.

On the professional front, Sai Pallavi is waiting for the release of Virata Parvam. The movie is a period action drama film written and helmed by Venu Udugula, and financed by D. Suresh Babu and Sudhakar Cherukuri. Sai Pallavi and Rana Daggubati acted in the lead roles while Priyamani, Nandita Das, Naveen Chandra, Zarina Wahab, Easwari Rao, and Sai Chand play supporting roles. The story of the film revolves around the Naxalite movement that took place in the Telangana region in the 1990s.

Music composed by Suresh Bobbili with cinematography by Dani Sanchez-Lopez and Divakar Mani. The movie was initially planned to release on 30 April 2021 but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 situation in India. Virata Parvam is going to be out in the theatres on 17 June 2022.
