Rohit Sharma has now become the full-time captain for Indian ODI and T20I sides. He has been given the T20I captaincy responsibilities last month. Just a few days back, BCCI sacked Virat as the ODI captain and replaced him with Rohit. Since the axing of Kohli, many people lashed out at BCCI for its decision. Some people also criticized Rohit even though he had nothing to do with the decision. However, Rohit says that his job is to focus only on his game and not care about anything else.

Captaincy Controversy
Rohit interacted with the bcci.tv recently. This is his first interview after becoming the white ball captain. In the interaction, Rohit stated that the pressure is always high when you are playing for India. He said that the pressure will always be there. But he focuses on his game and nothing else.
“There will be a lot of people talking about it; be it positively or negatively. For me, as a cricketer, it is important to focus on my job and not on what people are talking about because you cannot control that. I have said it a million times and I will keep repeating it,” stated Rohit.

He said that the same message goes with the team as well. There will be a lot of talks going on outside whenever the team is playing a high-profile tournament but it is important for players not to focus on them, says Rohit. He stated that players should share a strong bonding with each other and that leads helps them to achieve the goals they want to.
Rohit’s first assignment as a captain will commence with the upcoming ODI series against South Africa which will start in January.
