COVID-19’s new variant Omicron is spreading rapidly in India. Already, many of this variant’s cases have been found in various states of our country. Finally, it has entered the state of Telangana as well.

The Airport authorities have detected three cases at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad. The first case is of a 24-year-old female from Kenya. She arrived at Hyderabad airport on December 12.
The second case is of a 23-year-old male from Somalia. Even he arrived in the city on December 12. Both of them are now undergoing treatment and are under quarantine.
Apart from these two cases, a 7-year-old boy from West Bengal was found positive for the Omicron variant. However, the state Health Department said that the boy travelled via an International flight to Hyderabad and immediately boarded a domestic flight to West Bengal.

Apparently, the Bengal government was informed about his case. As of now, there is no local transmission of Omicron variant has been found in the state, said the Health Department.
People are requested to follow all the safety precautions and COVID-19 protocols. On top of that, the government also requested everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
