Bollywood Megastar Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, an accused in the Mumbai cruise drugs case need not appear before the NCB office every Friday as a part of his bail condition. The Bombay High Court scrapped the bail condition and said Aryan Khan has to present himself in Delhi, whenever the Special Investigation Team summoned him.
Aryan Khan had filed an application in the High Court, seeking that this bail condition – one of 14 – be amended. In his plea, Aryan said that he is accosted by the media and has to be accompanied by police personnel for his every Friday visit.
It is all known knowledge that Aryan Khan was arrested by NCB on October 3rd after a raid on a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. NCB had accused him of possession, consumption, sale and purchase of banned drugs. Aryan Khan was also accused of conspiracy and abetment. After three weeks of his arrest, on October 28th, the Bombay High Court granted bail.
Aryan Khan appeared before NCB on November 5, 12, 19, 26 and on Dec 3 and 10. The Bombay High Court, while granting bail to Aryan Khan told him to mark his attendance with NCB every Friday between 11 am and 2 pm.
On Wednesday, Advocate Amit Desai appeared for Aryan Khan and argued that “Nothing is happening in the case. He will cooperate and whenever they want him, then he will go. The investigation is now being done by Delhi. If they want him to fly to Delhi, then he will go. Every time he has to go to NCB office, there is a heavy police deployment. We are saving them this other work for them to do better work for the city of Mumbai.”
Advocate Shreeram Shirsat appearing for NCB said the agency had no problem with the modification. He further stated that whenever Aryan Khan is called he should cooperate and come either to Mumbai or Delhi whenever summoned.
