Debutant Directors With SuperHit Film: It is not an easy thing for a director to score a hit with their first film. But there are few directors in Tollywood whose first movie is a super hit.
RGV – Siva:
Ram Gopal Varma is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer, known for his works predominantly in Telugu and Hindi films, in addition to television. His first movie was Siva, a crime action film financed by Akkineni Venkat and Yarlagadda Surendra under their banners of Annapurna Studios and SS Creations, Siva stars Nagarjuna, Amala, and Raghuvaran. The basic plot of the story was adapted from The Way of the Dragon (1972), which revolves around the conflict between college student-turned-gangster Siva and Bhavani, a reputed crime boss mentored by the politician Machiraju.
Krishna Vamsi – Gulabi:
Pasupuleti Venkata Bangarraju, known professionally as Krishna Vamsi, is an Indian film director, producer, and choreographer. He started his career as an assistant director to Ram Gopal Varma and his directorial debut with the 1995 crime film Gulabi, starring J. D. Chakravarthi. Maheswari acted as the female lead in the film.
Puri – Badri:
Puri Jagannadh is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer, who works primarily in the Telugu film Industry. His first movie, Badri starring Pawan Kalyan, Renu Desai, and Ameesha Patel turned out as a superhit.
Sukumar – Arya:
Arya, an action film written and directed by debutant Sukumar. Financed by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, the film stars Allu Arjun, Anu Mehta, and Siva Balaji. Arya was released in 2004 and the film did well at the box office.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga – Arjun Reddy:
Arjun Reddy is a romantic drama film written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and produced by his brother Pranay Reddy Vanga’s company Bhadrakali Pictures. Arjun Reddy is the first film of the director. Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey acted in the lead roles while Rahul Ramakrishna, Jia Sharma, Sanjay Swaroop, Gopinath Bhat, Kamal Kamaraju and Kanchana acted in the prominent roles. The film created new records at the box office.
