Mana Desam:
Mana Desam, a drama film, produced by Raja Saheb of Mirzapur under the Sobhanachala Pictures banner, presented by Krishnaveni and directed by L. V. Prasad. It stars V. Nagaiah, C. H. Narayana Rao and Krishnaveni, with music composed by Ghantasala. N T Rama Rao made his debut with the film, Mana Desam. It is based on the Bengali novel Vipradas by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, and is set against the backdrop of the Indian independence movement.
Vagdanam:
Directed by famous writer Acharya Atreya and financed by K. Satyanarayana, D. Srirama Murthy under the Kavita Chitra banner. It stars Akkineni Nageshwara Rao, Krishna Kumari and music composed by Pendyala Nageshwara Rao. The movie is based on the novel Datta, written by Saratchandra Chatterjee.
Thodi Kodallu:
Thodi Kodallu, is an Indian Telugu-language drama film directed and edited by Adurthi Subba Rao who co-wrote the script with D. Madhusudhana Rao and Acharya Atreya. Madhusudhana Rao produced the film under Annapurna Pictures. It stars Savitri and Akkineni Nageswara Rao with music composed by Master Venu. The film is based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Bengali novel Nishkriti.
Ardhangi:
Ardhangi was directed by P. Pullaiah under the Ragini Pictures banner. It stars Santha Kumari, Savitri, and Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Music is composed by Master Venu and B. Narasimha Rao. Acharya Atreya scripted the film based on Maddipatla Suri’s Telugu translation of the Bengali novel Swayamsidda written by Manilal Banerjee. The film turned into a blockbuster.
Batasari:
Batasari is helmed by Ramakrishna under the Bharani Pictures banner. It stars P. Bhanumathi and Akkineni Nageswara Rao with music composed by Master Venu. The movie is based on the Bengali novel Bada Didi, written by Saratchandra Chatterjee.
