National Testing Agency released the NEET UG 2022 results for the current academic year on Wednesday on the official website. More than 17 lakh candidates have appeared for the exam. This year, 20 female candidates have secured the top position from a total of 50 candidates.
Despite the government warning, that failing in the exam doesn’t mean its the last step and urged students not to take any serious steps if they failed in exam. But still, a 19-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide on Wednesday. The incident took place in Tamil Nadu’s Ambattur. The girl ended her life after she failed to clear the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET).
After knowing about the incident, the family members of the girl rushed her to KMC hospital in Chennai but she was declared ‘brought dead’. Police have retrieved the body and sent it for postmortem.
This is not the first time that a NEET aspirant ended the life in the state. In July, just a day before the exam, a girl committed suicide in Arriyalur of Tamil Nadu. Police found a letter written by the girl which said that she took the extreme step from the fear of failing the exam.
In another case, an 18-year-old boy died by suicide in early July. A suicide note found in his room stated that he ended his life since he was finding the NEET exam too hard and was unable to score the desired marks.
